Harrisville State Park features a campground and day-use area nestled in a stand of pine and cedar trees along the sandy shores of Lake Huron. The park is within walking distance of the resort town of Harrisville. Established in 1921, it is one of Michigan's oldest state parks. The original park area consisted of six acres, much smaller than the current 107-acre size. It also offers a picnic area & pavilion, two mile trek hiking trail as well as non-groomed cross-country trails, and a metal detecting area.

Hoist Lake Foot Travel Area [Hiking & Cross Country Skiing]. Hoist Lakes Foot Travel Area encompases 10,600 acres of Manistee-Huron National Forest that has been reserved for foot travel. Two connecting loops of wide trails create a 20 mile figure-8 shaped system through the area. Within reach are seven lakes, beaver ponds, meadows, marshes, and second growth forests of aspen, pine, and northern hardwoods. The terrain is hilly enough to be interesting, but not difficult to walk. The trails are well marked with blue diamonds and numbered markers. Fact Sheet

Negwegon State Park is a rustic, undeveloped area open for hunting and hiking. A beautiful undeveloped sandy beach on Lake Huron. Please use caution when visiting as the roads into the park are often so sandy that a four-wheel drive vehicle is needed.
