Spruce is located east of Hubbard Lake, the largest inland body of water in northeastern Michigan.  It is a favorite vacation spot, with excellent fishing, swimming, sailing, scuba diving, and waters skiing.   The White Pine National Golf Resort located west of town is set among majestic pine and hardwoods forest.   They have done everything possible to maintain the natural beauty of the area to enhance your enjoyment of the game of golf. It also have an excellent dining room offering daily specials. A large Statue of Paul Bunyan with a neutered Babe the Blue Ox was on site near the F-41 junction for many years. It was moved to downtown Ossineke, on US-23
